THE MAP OF THE RUSSIAN GOLDEN RING  

"Golden Ring” is the abstract name of the area covering a radius of about 400km (250mi) northeast of Moscow city.
 

The area is famous for its small cities and towns, which once were the capitals of independent Kingdoms ruled by mighty Slavic Dukes. Remarkably, despite their turbulent history and industrialization, many towns managed to preserve their original architecture and features of medieval times.
